La Rascasse is a family run French style restaurant that has been a feature of Beckenham for decades. The premises has a popular bar on one side that has an outdoor smoking area at the rear and on the other side, a French Bistro style restaurant decorated with cafe chairs and classic Provencal blue and yellow table cloths. The restaurant is known for its Seafood including Oysters and large Seafood Platter for £45. The staff are friendly and the whole place has relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. On Sundays they offer Roast Dinner with a choice of Beef, Lamb, Duck and Salmon plus a Vegetarian option. On my visit I chose the Moule Mariner with Frites which had one of the best sauces I’ve ever tasted (and I lived in France for 9 years).
The Restaurant does seem popular with more mature diners with the average age being around 65 during my Sunday lunchtime visit.
