Sounds exactly the same as mine, tiny garden. I was there 15 years, bought in 1999 when ED was still fairly run down.
Happy to be here now though, maybe because I’m older but also because it became very expensive to shop in delis and bespoke wine stores all the time….I used to go to Lewisham market on Saturdays and get all my vegetables for the week for £10.
£10 didn’t go far on Lordship Lane
Where did you live in ED? we were in Silvester Rd in a Victorian Terrace which was nice but felt like we needed more space so we looked in Beckenham and ended up buying a lovely garden with a house attached
2yrs later and really enjoying having a bit more breathing space and loving my gardening.
Welcome to Beckenham & welcome to the Forum!!
Yes it’s great, we love it and since launching this site, we’ve found out so much more about the area and everyone has been so welcoming & supportive too!
Please feel free to give hubby an even better shout out – just add a thread with all of his details under the "business section" and you can even add photos too!
We look forward to seeing you on here soon!

Congrats on the forum – I too moved from se22 earlier this year and loved the EDF, so what a fab idea for the Beckenham community!
We are also loving the space and people here in leafy Beckenham…I guess Clapham moved to East Dulwich and many East Dulwich former residents are discovering the delights of Beckenham!
Please may I also give a shout out for my husband …if anyone needs a fab, Worcester Bosch accredited, and now local gas engineer – much recommended in East Dulwich and surrounding areas and now also working for locals in our new ‘hood
Founded in October 2016, the Beckenham Forum is an online meeting place for the residents of Beckenham to share their knowledge and experiences of life in the area.
The Beckenham Forum is not a faceless franchise based in California, we are a local couple living in Village Way, Beckenham.
We created the forum because we believe that being part of a community makes living somewhere much more enjoyable. An online community is something you can use where and when you want to.
